Color – 3.7º Lovibond
– 1-3% Adds dryness and a touch of spicy rye flavor and interest to many beer styles, from medium flavored lager to dark ales.
– 5-20% Lends a spicy rye flavor to roggenbiers, ryePAs, and more.
– 20-50% Very strong rye flavor roggenbiers
CHARACTERISTICS / APPLICATIONS
– Use in 5% increments until desired flavor is achieved. Add rice hulls when using more than 20%.
– Light bodied and somewhat dry, rye beers tend to have a nice head and an interesting grainy, slightly spicy flavor.
